When I first discovered Maggie J & Co, there was no doubt in my mind that it was definitely the right sort of shop that I'd love to be a part of. Unlike some other similar shops, the creatives who Pop-Up in Maggie J's are truly local. That was the biggest selling point for me. Being amongst other locals who I might actually have the pleasure of meeting with at some point, comparing creative notes and supporting one another - it's what shopping local is all about.
There's no point calling yourself a local collective if your contributors come from far and wide. Local people who believe in supporting other local people want to know that the products they are buying came from a 10-20 mile radius. That's pretty much the ethos of Maggie J's - it's a very special little shop.
For the next two weeks I've got a small selection of storage baskets, macrame hanging pot holders and string shopping bags available to purchase from Maggie J's (that's why they've disappeared from my website for now). I'm excited that people will be able to actually see what I create in 'real life', not just on a computer screen.
If you're looking for a treat for yourself, or a special someone, pop into Maggie J and have a look. Of course I'd love it if you bought one of my products, but there's also so many other creatives who offer a wide range of items. It's a gorgeous little shop and Jess who runs it will make you feel very welcome. (Thanks Jess for offering me this opportunity! ππ»π)
